Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL)

Our mission is for the Monument Neighborhood to be a vibrant, sustainable and culturally diverse community whose residents have the motivation, support and knowledge to eat well and be physically active throughout their daily lives. As part of Kaiser Permanente’s Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL) initiative, the Monument HEAL brings together a robust coalition of partners to work towards four principle community goals:

  • Decrease calorie consumption
  • Increase fruits & vegetables consumption
  • Increase physical activity in community and institutional setting
  • Increase water consumption and decrease intake of sugary drinks

Monument Impact collaborates with Healthy and Active Before 5, Contra Costa Health Services, Wellness City Challenge, First 5/Central County Regional Group, 18 Reasons, Contra Costa Child Care Council, Bike East Bay, Bike Concord and Monument Impact’s Health Promotores to bring about positive change. We focus on teaching the community easy ways to enjoy the best life has to offer through physical activities and nutritious and delicious meals on a budget. We have created a service network that collaborates on various projects with us.
