Economic Development

Monument Impact’s Economic Development Program includes many far-reaching initiatives intended to engage Monument Community residents in building employment opportunities for others through collaboration and networking with businesses, government agencies and non-profit organizations; designing and launching new businesses; and shaping economic policy for the neighborhood, city and county. Economic Development also focuses on the professional growth of individuals with the ultimate goal of being able to provide financially for themselves and their families through jobs that pay more than minimum wages.

Current initiatives include:

Day Labor: Promotes the professional growth of female and male laborers by offering vocational English classes, trade skills workshops, computer literacy education, and a trusted place for workers and employers to form job connections at fair wages.

Career Development:  Empowers job seekers to realize their potential, obtain employment and establish a better quality of life. Through interview coaching, resume writing, and career guidance, members develop and identify transferable skills that will help in a successful job search. We currently offer two programs: Job Readiness and Success Concord.

Go Get It! It’s Your Future!: GGI’s mission is to create opportunities for personal development and civic involvement by providing academic support and mentorship to under served youth and their families.

Technology: Provides training from basic computer skills for those who have never touched a computer to computer repair certification for those looking at IT as a career.

Reconnecting Youth to their Future: The Reconnecting Youth Program (part of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) works with youth between the ages of 16-21, and low-income and/or foster youth/homeless, who are motivated and determined to succeed and need support to finish school, find a job and /or pursue a career path.
