Career Pathways

The Career Pathways program is necessary because it is designed to help our participants overcome their current barriers to become self-sufficient. We connect our participants to resources that will help them find success in life.OBJECTIVES
We strive to prepare all clients for entry into the workforce in order to become self-sufficient or achieve economic advancement. We work with other organizations and service providers to connect individuals who may need additional services or resources.

Economic Development focuses on the professional growth of individuals with the ultimate goal of being able to provide financially for themselves and their families through jobs that pay more than minimum wages.

Participant Profile: job seekers who are part of the community and need assistance to find immediate employment or are interested in furthering their education to find better job opportunities. Possess one or more of the following barriers to employment; low income, limited English proficient, unemployed, low level of education, little or no work experience, and lack of skills.

How we serve participants: Career Pathways staff work closely with each individual to create a realistic employment plan. With guidance of an employment specialist, participants are able to create specific action steps to achieve identified goals whether it is to find employment or pursue a vocational training that will lead to moderate income wages. Participants may take one of two paths;

1.       Job seekers who speak intermediate English can join our 8 week Employment Readiness Program to learn the steps to be successful in their job search in addition to employment related terminology.

2.       Individuals who are looking to pursue a vocational training in health, construction/trades or information technology receive wrap-around services by becoming Success Concord participants.
