Technology for Success

Our Technology for Success programs are comprehensive 10–20 week courses designed for Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced computer skill levels.

Monument Impact offers instruction in Spanish and Farsi, using software programs developed in English. Our structured Beginning and Intermediate programs provide progressive skill development that prepares participants for Caminos, our career-track program combining advanced computer skills, English and professional development.

These classes are ideal for participants who are:

  • Seeking employment
  • Looking to advance in their current industry or earn a promotion
  • Owners of family businesses who want to manage their operations more efficiently
  • Have a clear employment goal

 

Our Course Options

Our Course Options

Computer Basics – 10-weeks

(Available in-person & online in Spanish and online in Farsi)

  • Microsoft Windows, including file management and login procedures
  • Setting up an email account, using email, and sending attachments
  • Safe internet navigation
  • Introduction to Microsoft Word: creating and saving simple documents

Intermediate: Introduction to Microsoft Office – 18-weeks

(Available in-person & online in Spanish and online in Farsi)

  • Microsoft Word – 6 weeks
    Learn to create documents with a professional appearance 
  • Microsoft Excel – 6 weeks
    Learn cell and data formatting and how to use basic formulas and functions and create a family budget.
  • Microsoft PowerPoint –  6 weeks
    Learn to create engaging and professional  presentations

 

Caminos – 20-weeks (Available online in Spanish only*)

Lesson plans include:

  • Advanced Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
  • Microsoft Office Online and OneDrive
  • Quickbooks
  • English (ESL) In partnership with Mt. Diablo Adult Education
  • Professional Development, including resume development, job search, and more
  • Mock interviews

* A placement evaluation is required to be considered for Intermediate and Caminos courses.

Requirements

  • Must be t least 18 years old with an employment goal in mind
  • Low to moderate income
  • Highly motivated to learn new technical and professional skills
  • Access to a laptop with access to the Windows operating system
  • Have a. clear goal and commitment to learning

Please note: Classes are available in Spanish, with a select few in Farsi. Software will be in English.

Employment Placement Services for Caminos Graduates

We work closely with local businesses to connect Caminos graduates with meaningful employment and advancement opportunities that align with their skills and goals.

  • One-on-one coaching
  • Assistance with job applications and cover letters
  • Access to job fairs, alumni events, and networking opportunities
  • Access to financial literacy and small business training
  • Ongoing support for up to 12 months after employment
