Jawed Latif
Dr. Jawed Latif is our Employment Readiness Case Manager for our CalWORKs program, working one-on-one with clients who are new to the U.S. and have limited English proficiency to help prepare them for finding a job. His lived experience as a refugee makes a huge difference for his clients.
Jawed earned his medical degree from Jami Medical University in Herat, Afghanistan and did his surgical residency at the Salamat Clinic in Herat. He also worked as a Province Manager, Project Manager, and Alternative Quality Control Manager with international and national organizations.
In 2020, Jawed immigrated to the United States with a Special Immigration Visa and came directly to Concord. Once here, he completed a Boot Camp coding course at the Tech Institute. “When I heard that Monument Impact had an opening for an Employment Readiness Case Manager, I was excited to become involved. It has helped me gain experience as a social worker supporting a community where the next generation will rise,” says Jawed.
Jawed lives in Concord with his wife and two children. In his free time, he enjoys reading, practicing coding, and spending time with his family. He likes working with his 8-year-old kid to check his school work and playing tennis with his family.
