What We Do

What We Do

We are proud members of the National Day Labor Organizing Network (NDLON)and for over 25 years, we have connected homeowners, business owners, and contractors with trusted Day Labor workers.

In 2023, our Day Labor Center facilitated over 14,000 daily job placements for 55 members.  Our goals includes:

Job Connections – Facilitating daily and long-term  job placements for our day worker community with employers, offering a specific wage floor and safe working conditions.

Civic Integration –Advocating for economic mobility and social inclusion, including providing ESL courses, fostering a safe environment to meet other immigrants, and providing access to resources such as emerging business support, healthcare, and driver’s license preparation.

Skills Training –  Partnering with qualified Day Labor members and outside professionals to provide training in specific trade skills such as carpentry and landscaping; workplace safety, how to avoid wage theft, computer literacy, and more.

Leadership Development & Advocacy – Offering leadership training and civic engagement opportunities for workers, including leading and participating in the Center’s Comités, education about rights in the workplace, conducting outreach to street laborers, and advocacy with the National Day Labor Organizing Network.
