Advoacy and Campaigns

Monument Impact has a long history of community outreach through campaigns that provide resources, education, and support to help low-income, working families thrive. Our campaigns are created in response to community needs, tackling the most pressing challenges at any given time — from Medi-Cal enrollment to understanding renewable energy.

Current Campaigns

Currently, our promotores are leading a campaign with MCE Clean Energy to help families understand renewable energy, learn ways to save on monthly electricity bills, and connect with programs that provide bill assistance and energy efficiency support. Through this outreach, residents are able to better make informed choices and feel more in control of their health, safety, and household resources.

Past Campaigns

Monument Impact has partnered with organizations like Brighter Beginnings to run outreach campaigns have focused on helping families access vital resources and stay healthy.

  • ITIN Access & Economic Support: Many families missed out on critical economic supports during the pandemic due to not having an Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN) or filing taxes. Our campaign educated community members about the importance of obtaining an ITIN, which can be used to file taxes, access tax credits, open a bank account, and more.

  • Vaccine Outreach: From 2021 to 2022, our promotores led a Vaccine Outreach campaign reaching 52,814 residents, providing information on COVID, flu, and RSV vaccines. With rising cases, we continue to inform families about updated boosters, vaccine safety, and where to access vaccinations for the whole family.

  • Medi-Cal Enrollment: In partnership with Contra Costa Health Plan, we supported in educating and enrolling uninsured individuals for Medi-Cal services, reaching families with young children and elderly that have gone a period of time without the security of health insurance.
  • Extreme Heat Awareness: East Contra Costa experiences some of the highest seasonal temperatures in the East Bay, and many immigrants work outdoors as day laborers, gardeners, or agricultural workers. Our campaign focuses on the most vulnerable community members, providing education on heat risks, staying hydrated, taking breaks, finding shade, and accessing local resources for heat safety.
